thats what i said, never heard of it.  i did case grains (1st grow) and it did produce a little but not in a mono.

i was talking about peat moss, thats what i case with 60/40 verm
I was going to use coir as a case mix, sub for peat, but was advised not 2. well not really but i was told im bettter of spawning to it and it turned out great.  id never go back to just casing my grains, but thats just me. 
Currently im doing mono's but im setting up a GH (goiing to wait til i move in a month, 2 tops).  then im going to do smaller trays (all bulk).

Also, I believe u yourself case with a bulk sub (coir). coir is nutrious and colinizes itself, most ppl case with verm/peat.  not very nutrious but a microclimate maybe thats y  .

If it works hey it works but id spawn to coir instead of case with it, then case with verm/peat<-- works GREAT for me!

Monotub is best when it contains a bulk sub.  Bulk holds moisture and it creates RH (as it dries up a bit)  I dont think a crumbled cake cased would work, i never heard of it.
  u can spawn ure crumbled cake to bulk, coir (reptile bedding) can be easily obtained at most pet stores pretty cheap.  then creat a monotub.

u can use straight coir but the more u mix in the better... straight coir does work great tho

honey in the water huh, nice idea.  im prob going to do cakes for the first time sometime this week (started with grains).  Im knocking them up with LC tho so i dont know how much honey will help?  maybe they'll colonize in like 5 days!! lol

LC's are very hard to tell if their contaminated or not, basically have to test it out on a jar to c if it viable.  This is more fool proof and i think it colonizes just like a LC as well it pretty much is a LC

i bought an adjustable one at bed,bath & beyond and it works great. i put it on the lowest temp. it was $45 on sale... I love it, i can pull a flush and in 12 to 24 hr. im eatting. lol

its a pinning trigger but it "guides" the mushrooms  where to grow.
Pretty cool thing that i was yet to try is to move the light around during fruiting  and what the mushroom form a "twirl" shape.
