Title: TOO MUCH!?
Post by: funguy on July 12, 2005, 03:49:39 PM
Hello,

I am a first timer and just injected spores in the jars.
I used about 16 ml of spore solution for 6 jars.

Did I put way too much spores(water) in the jar? (half pint)
If so, what should I do to avoid any damage on the cake?

Please help!!!

Well im no expert but i have read almost all of these posts. A guy in the pF section asked the same thing. They replied in that it may make it colonize faster but in terms of growth it should produce the same yeild, and as far as i know it wont damage the cake itself. But im sure you figued that out alredy

Same yield probably, and faster colonization.  On the other hand you can end up throwing off the moisture content of your jars...

While it is not necessary to use that much spore suspension, it won't do any harm.
