Title: Made a mistake. HELP!!!
Post by: dan on October 08, 2010, 07:54:42 AM
I have a dozen pftek jars incubating and I made a mistake and left my temp at 88 degrees.  I noticed and turned it down. Well, they are growing except for the bottoms of some jars.  Should I keep them incubating? or cut off the bottoms and crumble them up in casing???

Are they fully colonized?

dan,
I would def. try and flip them over if they are colonized besides the bottoms.

They are not fully colonized. I will flip them over tonight and see how it goes. Should I shake them a bit?

I wouldn't bother shaking them. 106 F is thermal death so you should be fine.

When I flip mine I give a hard tap on my palm upside down to make a small air pocket on the bottom and then put it back upsidedown. Good luck!
