thanx man,

I been thinkin they might should have been for some time, hence my concern of what they were looking like and taking soooo long. Except I could see a bit of BR in the bottoms of several jars thinking that was normal growth.

I will be dunking and birthing real soon. time would have it I'm going out of town for four days in two weeks, was hoping they would stay till then.

one more thing bro: I did dunk and roll three of the more advanced looking jars about five days ago: peeking today noticed bright white fuzz towards the bottom of the cakes. I hope that is normal, then I be gettin relieved as well as damned excited.

the holy tub doesn't seem to be keeping the humidity so Im wrappin a bit of saran wrap around to cover some of the holes. In the basement where there isn't alot of air movement and maintain about 78-80* I spray and humidity goes to about 95-100 then drops to 80 or so within a day or two.
(damn these notes are long, apologize.)

thanx, peace,

So definately not cubensis?

no man they have been like that for a while and not progressing any faster than the rest of the myc.

the lighting wasn't good in the basement so that one jar is real dark.

those brown spots are the color of and texture of shrooms in the flesh. it makes me think they are trying to grow. the jar lids are on pretty damned tight as I birthed three jars and they smelled shroomy, nothing bad.

Is it safe to take foil off, a chance of contam? I'd love to since it blocks my view somewhat plus as I said above, the lids are on tight, I had to grunt to get three lids loose. they have been over two months colonizing.

click on em to make em bigger.

and below all of these can someone tell me how these cakes look?

No dude, brain farts are sick.

Hay, that way I can catch up on the News while I'm trippin.

I replied to "Drying" in this forum a minute ago, check it.

I tried it with newspaper with some I found near the hills, don't know what they were but they dried in a few days no mess no fuss and dropped their little spores right there on the parer. it was brownish in color. I don't know how to ID Psyl. shrooms from anything sept toad stools or ones that are obviously not to eat, I think.

Hay Baph Bro:

Have you eaten those dried in the oven to report the yea or nay of potency?

How bout this: What about drying them in between sheets of a section of newspaper?
I tried it with some good looking shrooms I found in a wooded area near the mountain here and they dried up in a few days. I was going to send pics until I found out I had to join a website which makes me feel vulnerable. but as they dried they dropped spores (I guess( which were brown looking.

that was a Q of mine somewhere in the forum: how to ID Psilly shrooms. I'm leary to munch em, right? they might not be good anyhow they have been in the paper for about a month.

ew! ew! pick me ! I know the answer!

one comes from a cow and the other comes from a horse.

LOL

my understanding is that horse poop contains a lot of seeds from grasses and weeds that they eat because of their digestive system doesn't clean it all out.

cows have two stomachs to digest those grasses etc., therefore less chance of seeds that might sprout up while you are trying to grow prize plants.

anyone, correct me if I'm wrong

I have heard that the very best poo poo to use for fertilizer is "Turkey Poop" (shit)
but I don't know exactly why.

google search for animal fertilizers or organics and see what you can find.

July 16, 2007, 05:52:38 PM
then what? you need to take the saran wrap off each day and fan it out, yes? and what about fresh air?, the reason for the holes in the box, correct?

the guy in the video drilled holes in the lid of the clear tub and holes all over the tub then used a completely different lid without holes in it to cover the tub, watch the video (bottom of the page of the TEK for simple minds, it takes you to you tube) , plus the damn thing was white, so no direct light to the top of the cakes.

dude,,, the question was.......... is the lid supposed to have holes in it and if so will
that let out the moisture needed to keep the humidity inside?

Ok, no more brain farts for you bro. (LOL)

PF - Tek / FC lid with or without holes?
July 16, 2007, 03:29:23 PM
tell ya what, everybody's high or what?

the video tek shows that guy drilling the hell out of the tub and lid (all 6 sides), he's trippin too cuz after he puts the cakes rolled in verm on the perlite in the tub he puts a completely different lid on, without holes, plus the lid is white.

what happened to the lid with all of the holes? will the moisture go out the holes too fast? does'nt the moisture need to be  trapped for humidity to be effective?.

coolest room in the house here is in the basement at close to 80* in the warm months that is, and not very much  air circulation, I guess thats, ok?.

How do you know if your pulling the next flush through? that sounds funky. it seems that those mushkies are quite fragile or delicate that it could break off and leave frags in the cake. tell me again.

dude, do you mean to say you put each spoonful into jars with BRF substrate or just a spoonful into empty jars and it's working?

PF - Tek / Re: New "Q" bout colonization
July 10, 2007, 05:24:37 PM
thanx Anno.

the jars are still colonizing.

how much MYC is considered fully colonized? they are nearly most (jars that is) totally covered. the myc on one batch of ten jars is kind of thin while the other batch is much thicker and it looks like the myc is trying to double and is creeping up from the bottom in spots

at what point should I try to fruit them?
and what after I put them in the chamber drilled with alot of holes and perlite with a cigar hygrometer? the weather is hot and dry here. the basement is a little cooler

My bad guys. I just can't seem to want to spread pics on some website I know nothing about, of something that could come back and bite me in the ass. Such as pics of whats going on inside my jars so I can get an opinion from ya'all so I know what to do next. colonizing for 2 months now (minus 4 days)

Is there no way I can upload the pics in the forum somehow?

also, now that I've drilled the hell of all six sides of a new tub, bottom included, then 3 inch perlite.  excess water drains out the bottom, so now I need a pan to catch it in? the video wasn't too complete.
