Title: Straw casing
Post by: cugak on July 28, 2010, 11:27:28 AM
I put couple layers of WBS spawn and straw! Then i tuckle in over some foil and put it in dark to colonize! And then i case and also let it colonize and then fruit!
Is this right?

Sounds about right, just don't let the casing fully colonize. When you see the myc peek through the casing in the valleys evenly. I just did a bulk grow with no casing and it went pretty well. I think you get a more even pinset w/ a casing. The yield was fine though.

Yes, straw and Hpoo no casing. It was a monotub so quite a bit of space to hold moisture.

Awesome pics Dub.  Personally I've decided straw is just too much of a pain in the ass to work with.  I did a lasagna pan and two laundry baskets months ago and I still find straw just about everywhere.
