Hey guys.  I've been harvesting my cakes, and often there are shrooms that have grown towards the bottom that have what I would consider like a long "root" that goes under the cake and is anchored on the bottom.  It comes off with the shroom when I harvest, but I was not sure if this portion of the mushroom had any psilocybin or psilocin in it.  I've been keeping them and drying them with my batches, but wasn't sure if I should just cut the "root" off instead.  Any thoughts?

Hey guys.  I read online at one site that 3 to 4 days without shrooms should bring your tolerance level back down to zero.  Any personal experience on how many days to wait between trips to get full effects?

A friend of mine sent me some Treasure Coast and I took 3 grams, on 2 different occassions, and both were great, full-blown trips.  As you might have seen on my other posts, I've recently grown my own B+ and Texas strains.  I have taken 3 grams of each of these, and the effects have been VERY minor.  On my most recent trip, I took 6.5 grams and the effects are still not as intense as the 3 grams of Treasure Coast.  I'm thinking I'll have to take 9 dried grams of these in order to have a good full trip.  I wouldn't think that PC strains would differ THIS MUCH in their potency.  I mean, 3 to 3.5 grams of any PC should be a good trip, at least that's what I've read.  Any thoughts on this?  And I didn't use ANY heat to dry my shrooms.  I place them in a mesh container I built and put them in front of a normal fan for 24 hours.  Any thoughts or experience would be appreciated...

I started trying to grow with the PF tek back in January and I FINALLY have some fruit to show for all my time, money, and effort!  Please see attached pics of B+ and Texas strains.  I am still a total newbie, but for those who are just starting out, here are some errors I made:

1.  Buy your spores from a vendor recommended on this site.  My first spore syringes were not quality samples.  My second order was placed with Ralphsters and it made a world of difference.

2.  When innoculating your jars, make sure you stick the needle far enough into the jar that the tip is past the dry vermiculite top layer.  I'm pretty sure that I didn't do this on a few of my first jars and ended up shooting the spore solution directly into the dry vermiculite, where it could do nothing.

3.  It IS possible for your fruiting chamber to be TOO damp and have TOO much water in it.  I'm quite sure that my first attemps were marred by having too much condensation in the chamber and on the cakes themselves, which I think stunted their growth and possibly "drowned" them. 

4.  Patience IS a virtue.

Hey all.  My past few trips involved 3 grams.  Both kicked in pretty strong right at about 45 minutes after ingestion, lasted about 3 hours, and then stopped.  I've read that you can take an MAO inhibitor to increase the trip, but I can't take these b/c of some meds I'm on.  Also, it seems that if you just take another dose when you are coming down, you are just wasting the second dose because it is not going to have nearly the effect of the first.  Any suggestions if I want to try to extend the trip to a good 5 or 6 hours?  Should I just take more shrooms or will it just be more intense for the same 3 hours?

I just wanted everyone to see that I am now officially a FULL MEMBER.  LOL.  Not a 1/2 or 3/4.  But a FULL MEMBER.

I know this topic has been discussed over and over, but I find it very interesting.  For me, Pink Floyd and The Beatles just cannot be topped.  Seriously.  They just nail it.  I've just listened to the albums "Wish You Were Here" (Floyd) and "Abbey Road" (The Beatles), and they are just perfect.  Just perfect. I would love to hear others' opinions on this...any other contenders?  Maybe some newer bands that I don't know of (or older for that matter)?  I'm 32 and some of the other bands I've heard mentioned are unknown to me.

I was writing in my journal this am about what exactly IS the experience of tripping.  I personally cannot say.  I have questions and possibilities, but no answers.  I know that some believe that tripping, or possibly a better term for this post is "the use of entheogens," is a spiritual experience that puts one in contact with actual spirits or divinities or "god."  I like Aldous Huxley's view that the use of entheogens operates as a mechanism to open up the "reducing valve" in our brain to allow us to see and experience more than our modern minds have been conditioned to notice.  As for me, all I can say now is that it is an incredibly interesting, and generally enjoyable, experience.  Just wanted to throw this question out there to see what any one else believes the experience of "tripping" actually IS. 

Hey guys.  I've got 3 cakes of Mazatapec that I birthed months ago, they grew some, then I dunked and rolled and have had no real pinning for at least 3 weeks (they are in my fruiting chamber).  Some new myc. has grown, but they are pretty much stagnant.  Would it be too late for me to take these cakes, crumble to marble size, and case?  Not sure if this would work or not at this stage of the game.  I just think there is still life in them and thought this might work.

Anybody know anything about all these "legal" highs that you can buy online...anything from stuff to make you "trip" to "stimulants," etc...I'm looking at morning glory seeds and rivea corymbosa seeds.  But there are also all these things packaged like candy, but they are pills, etc.  Anyone know if any of this stuff is worthwhile or actually works?  Any recommendations?

Hey guys.  Has anyone found a safe and discreet way to find fellow shroomers in your area?  I am completely disconnected from the "drug" and "party" scene, but would like to find some people who are into shrooms or THC.  Any suggestions?

Can you guys help me understand what is going on with these tiny shrooms?  They look like they might actually become something, but they have been exactly this size for probably 2 weeks...are they aborts?  FAE and RH are all fine. Should I just pick them off, dunk and roll again, or wait some more?

Hey guys...I've tried all kinds of varietions of the following pics to get my RH above 90 and I just can't do it.  In the picture, the clear tube in the left corner is an air tube connected to two rock bublers beneath the hydroton.  The cup in the center goes all the way down to the bottom of the chamber, but has holes in it to keep water in it, and there is an ultrasonic fogger in there.  The right white wire is just my temp gauge.  These are all in a rubbermaid type container with a plexiglass lid.  I've tried putting holes in the lid, covering the holes in the lid, just using the fogger, only using the bubblers, wiping all the moisture off the sides...everything I can think of and I can't get the damn RH above 90...do you think my humidity gauge is bad?  I mean the chamber is being contantly filled with fresh air, bubbled through water, mist from the fogger, temp is good...what am I doing wrong?

I have 2 cakes, one of which gave me a few normal shrooms, but for the past week at least, nothing new has really grown.  All the "pins" and tiny shrooms have stayed the same and some started turning pretty blue.  Since they weren't doing anything, I picked them all off the cakes, lightly scrubbed the cakes under water, and am dunking them again.  My questions is what is your take on these?  Are they all aborts?  Are they rotten?  Or all they just horribly tiny?  Thanks!

These pics are from the same cake.  I'm not sure when I am supposed to harvest these?  Can you harvest just a few mushrooms from a flush and wait for the others to grow?  And when do you dunk again?  After all have been picked and there are only pins left?  Should I wait longer with these and then harvest?  Thanks for your help.

Hey guys.  These pictures are of the side of the same cake.  This has been a problem cake from innoculation until now, so if I have to toss it, it is not a big deal.  I've read about "bluing," but this looks like blue/green mold to me...could be wrong though...what should I do?  I don't want to contaminate my other cakes if it is mold.  Thanks!

Hey guys.  I've had my dunked and rolled cakes in my fruiting chamber for 4 days now.  I built a chamber using an aquarium air pump that is pushing air through 2 rock bublers, up through water and clay pellets.  It looks to be very humid inside and I have kept them in light about 10 hours a day, just in my bathroom, getting light from 2 normal bulbs.  Average temp has probably been 73 or so.  The cakes very quickly showed new mycelial growth.  What is a normal timeframe to start to see actual fruiting?  (These are mazatapecs)

I bought a large plastic fruiting chamber that is a translucent grey.  I've put 2 rock bubblers (aerators) on the bottom, covered them with expanded clay pellets, and filled with water.  The top that came with the plastic bin is too dark to let light in...can I just use plastic wrap and poke some holes in it?  Seems like that would work fine to me.  Also, I've seen that people place aluminum foil under their cakes, is that necessary?  Can I just place the cakes directly on the expanded clay pellets?
