Title: Cakes stopped growing
Post by: jivangilad on May 20, 2008, 10:37:52 AM
I have 3 cakes in glasses.
after a long time, they nearly reached 100 colonization, and then stopped growing
( I think they stay the same for about a week)
I suspect its because they lost water, because I see many water drops on the sides
of the glasses.
Any ideas?

how close to being complete are they? I have birth'd cakes that were about 90-95% complete.

Without pics, it's hard to tell.
But it sounds like condensation which is normal.
Some people call it "Myc Piss"
If it's above 85% colonized birth and/or case them.
If you notice any foul smells besides the smell of mushroom then toss it.

Thanks.
I birthed them.
A few days later, they became colonized, and one already started to grow pins.
