Post by: thallus on November 29, 2006, 01:26:14 PM
I just made a post at the shroomery and they gave me a link to here. I have a in-line duct centrifugal fan and want to make a flow hood. I would like to know if it would be any good and what size hepa I could use it with.
I think its a VT 100B

They look to use the same type of fan here http://www.fungifun.org/English/Flowhood
I would really like to use it so any help would be good.

P.s. been to this site a few times so im glad to be a new member.
p.s.s any link would be great but could you make them in the uk because thats where im based

The VT100B is not suitable for any size of HEPA filter.
If you look at the chart in http://www.chaysol.com/docs/catalogue/VT_en.pdf (Page 2, AIRFLOW PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS), you will see that at 200Pa the flow is zero.

Study http://www.fungifun.org/English/Flowhood to learn what to look for.
