dang, I meant to say terrarium on that one.  Thanks for the reply, though.  After posting that one I did some more reading and I think I'm gonna go with perlite since I'm not making more than 6 cakes.

can I put anything in the top container to help displace the water around the sides?  The bins are the same size and weight but I don't have enough weight inside the top one to push down the water.  I was thinking of bricks or a large bucket of water but I didn't know if that would be unsanitary.  Thanks for any help.

Hi.  If I use the incubator show on this site (http://www.fungifun.org/pf/incubator.htm), would it be beneficial to use a humidifier/air exchanger or is it not necessary?  Thanks.

Thanks Anno for your advice.  I have another question about attention.  On the fungifun site it describes an incubator (http://www.fungifun.org/pf/incubator.htm) that requires 2 tubs.  It says to put water in the bottom one submerging a fishtank heater.  Can you tell me if anyone has tried this and how often they had to refil the bottom tub with water?  Thanks again.

If I am at the stage of growing which is between the incubation and the fruiting, would there be a problem if I had to leave the house for a week?  What about other stages...which is the most important for daily attention?
