Yea, get that lid back on there FAST. MT is totally right. Just be patient and let the jars do what they do. Best thing to do is forget about them for a week or so. And trust me, all this info is MUCH EASIER SAID than done, lol. I just couldn't stop myself from looking at them and playing with them, haha.   ^_^

GET THOSE LIDS STERILIZED AND BACK ON! Good Luck hookuh110, hope you get a bountiful harvest.

OK, hate to say it supersancho402, but if you can't afford a Spore Print, you definently can't afford to grow them. Lets be honest here, the materials you'll need to successfully grow will cost alot more than 20 Dollars. More like 200 Dollars...

I mean, honestly man, everyone else is going through the same money problems at the moment i'm sure. You probably aren't the only person out there that is strapped for cash...me for instance, lol.

If you really want to start this hobby, I would do what most of us did, save up some MONEY. I saved for almost 6 Months in order to have the money for all my materials and to be completely sure that I knew what I was doing. Wasn't easy, but that's life. Try to save up 20 or 30 Dollars for some Spores before you ask for free one's. You may be surprised at how fast you can save money if you really want something bad enough.

Good Luck supersancho402. Hope you manage to get yourself a Spore Print. Trust me, getting them for yourself will be much more satisfying in the end.

PF - Tek / Question on a Weird Mistake...
February 28, 2010, 08:59:41 PM
So, I accidentally forgot to do the Roll part of the Dunk and Roll...(i know...i know...)

My questions are... Do I need to roll them in vermiculite now, or are they ok as is? If they are ok as is, would you guys recommend I roll them anyway? Is it safe to just roll them now even though they have been sitting in the FC for about 18 - 20 hours now?

I was trying to do this at 6 am before work, and I just TOTALLY forgot. Been a rough week for me...

Thanks in advance for all your help guys.

Thanks moorhS! It's been REALLY rewarding. The 71 Grams Fresh I harvested turned into 7.5 Grams Dry, and i'm ALL smiles, haha.   ^_^

I know I said i'd have pics up, but I can't find my Camera's charger ANYWHERE...   As soon as I find it, i'll have like 4 or 5 pics up, including some of my FC setup.

That casing sounds cool btw moorhS, haha. Can't wait to see the pics. My Malabars just started to fruit, and I can't even take pictures, it REALLY SUCKS... Hope you manage to get some pics up moorhS, i'll try to do the same, haha. Good Luck on that second flush buddy. Hope they all finish at the same time this flush.

How modest not to include yourself Shroomzer, lol. I think being the Cake Queen makes you a Pro.   ^_^

I'm fairly new here myself, but i've gotten a TON of help from EVERYONE. So, no worries.    Somebody will always try to answer your questions.   ^_^

I do the same thing as Shroomzer. And honestly...I don't think "The Man" is all that concerned with my small setup.   ^_^

It's safe. Just make a Photobucket account or something similar using a weird name. I don't think they ask for your address or anything. Take a look around this site. Lots of us take pics and post them. Just don't have anything in the pictures that would tell anyone who or where you are. And don't use that account for any other type of pictures <like pics of you and your family at a BBQ for instance, lol> Do that, and you should be fine, just like everyone else who posts pics on this site.

Plus, we are all a bunch of Photo Junkies...   ^_^

Haha, nice. Six is a nice even number anyway... MUHAHA   Sounds like you are well on your way.

Incubating at 78F is good, because the mycelium will produce some heat. Most will say 80F though, and I am currently Incubating 6 jars at 80F with great results. You want about 86F I believe, so 78F plus the heat produced by the mycelium should be more than fine. However, if the weather in your area is cold, I'd say Incubate at 80F, just in case.

Good Luck again Benjamin Linus, can't wait to hear about your progress. Also, i'm pretty sure a few of the pro's around here have grown Treasure Coast's before. They may have a few tips for you.   ^_^

I'm pretty sure you can use any old Brown Rice, but go for the Organic stuff. You can just buy some Organic Brown Rice and turn it into BRF. Easy as pie.

The one Syringe should be good for 5 jars, if it's a 10cc syringe. If that's the case, you may have some spore solution left over in fact. Even if you inject each jar with 1.5cc's, that will still leave you with approx. 2.5cc's (Give or take 1cc).

Good Luck and Welcome Benjamin. Hope you get off on the right foot.   ^_^

No problem Vandal_xx. Glad I could be of some help to you.   ^_^

When I first started thinking about doing this, I was so confused and a bit freaked out. But all the pro's here really helped me out by answering all my silly questions and trying to keep me patient, lol. All I can say is, TRUST THESE GUYS. They will steer you towards a good harvest. And once you get started and begin to see some colonization, you begin to realize, it's not all that hard or scary.

The two most important things to me in this hobby are Patience and Sterility. If you can be Patient and Sterile, you will be fine.

Good Luck again Vandal_xx, and be sure to check out the Search Function. That thing's saved me when I needed an answer FAST. If you can't find the answer though, feel free to ask anyone here. Can't wait to see your progress!   ^_^

Hey Vandal_xx, i'm gonna try to answer a few of your questions.   -_-

I've never made my own spore syringe, or print for that matter, so wait for the pro's to answer that question, lol.

I'm a first time grower myself, but I have 6 jars of Malabar's that took about 20 DAYS to see my first REAL signs of growth on 4 of them. And YES, it was a TERRIBLE 20 days, lol.

As for how long you should wait...I'd wait until you have something else going into the incubation chamber before you trash this project. You never know, you may see some signs after 20 days and be surprised.

Good Luck Vandal_xx, hope your jars start colonizing.
