Cultivation / Re: when do you stop misting a casing

I mist with a 1:9 H202 : water mix and it seems to be fine. The peroxide prevents spraying on contams.

Seems worth a try with maybe one quarter of the ingredients just to see if it works and is palatable. -_-

My understanding is that the chocolate needs to be heated to around 112 F -115F. This is about the same range as the danger zone for shrooms. It can be done, but you need to invest in a chocolate thermometer. There are some good recipes over at mycotopia in their vaults section. -_-

No. You can also do it with an LC. Here is a link to a TEK at mycotopia

I've had lots of failures with trying to grow wood lovers. This LC tek has been successful so far. I've been trying azurescens from Ralphs and Earthtongue.

Malabar nailed it. Try Raphsters or Earthstongue next time, I've had good results from both. Also why not start a second round. It is fun to grow these amazing fungi. Most of us have projects at various phases all the time.

People experience success with the PF TEK. Try it and you will be able to answer your own question. The best substrate is the one that works for you consistently.

What TEK (systematic procedure) are you following?
Temps?
Location?
Where did you get your spores?
How often do you check your jars?
Were the jars hot when you innocced?
More info needed.
Welcome to the forum.

PF - Tek / Re: buying spores
August 31, 2009, 03:06:57 AM
It would require a two part strategy. You need to know someone in a state where spores can be bought and shipped. They order the spores and receive the package and then forward it to you. Probably best to do this with a spore print as syringes can go bad if they get too hot in transit.

PF - Tek / Re: Spores and potency?
August 31, 2009, 03:05:25 AM
The reason we are able to buy spores from companies on the web is because there is no psilocybin nor psilocin in the spores themselves. Therefore no potency is lost.

Hey Ganga man,
It is easy to build a temporary tolerance to mushrooms so that they lose their potency for a period of time. It is your body and mind, and yours to explore, but most people find punctuated use is more effective than continual use. What was your experience like?

Set and setting is the most crucial ingredient for a stress free, delightful experience. Go out to nature. Find a quiet place with trees, rocks, water and perhaps a few friends. then the shroom people will reveal themselves to you.....

I checked out that model online and you can get it for $40. Here's a link: http://www.drugstore.com/qxp84989_335997_sespider/honeywell_enviracaire/hepa_air_purifier_model_16200.htm

My understanding is that if you want to clone, you need to clone from the fruits rather than the cake. But I could be wrong. The issue is senescence. Give it a try and post your results.

Cultivation / Re: grain dunk
August 26, 2009, 10:34:59 AM
If you have more than one jar, you might try leaving one as is and dunking the others to see if there is any difference in yield or speed. Every time you add something to the mix you are introducing the possibility of contams joining the party. Your strategy for fully hydrating the jar sounds okay to me, just not sure if it will make any difference.
