Title: PF to grain transfer?
Post by: tritone on June 01, 2010, 03:19:45 PM
 is it possible to take a cut from the rice cake and use that to continue to spawn in a rye seed jar?

also if horse poop is the substrate of choice why not use it as substrate mixed with rice flower as part of the rice cake?

I'm just a rookie don't know what I'm talking about..

cheers!

Yes to the first question, although grains are perhaps easier to work with in that situation. You want to be quick and clean, grains break up easy.
I've used castings in Qt jars along with straw, and millet with multispore pan goliath. It colonized really slow, I think it was a little too wet. Your idea sounds plausible, although it would be just as easy to spawn your crumbled BRF cakes to a pasteurized substrate.
