thanks for precision; i read the page of a guy who transfer all mycelium in one grain jar, colonize the jar and after that, transfer the content of the jar in hardwood..

i read non-stop about lc, agar and all that shit but

hum; just to be sure of what i've read: i must transfer my "super mycellium" on many other agar to have a good quantity of "super mycellium", transfer all that  mycellium on grain to create spawn; and use spawn for colonizing my substrate jar ... i'm right or i can pass direct from "super mycellium" to final substrate?

another time; thanks to you baph.

genetic selection  that's hot! (and very interesting)

i really like the 2nd link:

That means, if you were to use multispore innoculation on 10 jars, only 7.5% of your jars would be of the very best fruiting genotype. One jar would have mostly (75%) great fruiting genes and only a little bit (25%) of garbage sprinkled around it. All the rest of your jars, would have 75% that wasn't quite as good, and 25% that weren't good at ALL.

With strain isolation, you can take that 7.5% that is ultimate, and make it 100% of your crop. All 10 jars, would be 100% full of that very best 7.5% of your genetic pool

selecting best genetic, i'll do it soon...

byebye!

The best strain to use for a larger yeild is any strain.
You have to isolate the most vigorus mycelium, which is done on LC.

isolate the most vigorous mycelium done on LC....?
i know that lc is for "liquid culture"; somewhat to do whit mycelium... some help plz? i try to search but any serious result...that like...Mycelium Inoculation Technique??(http://www.fungifun.org/English/Mycelium)

i'm so noob......

thanks to all!

hi all! i check google with my question but i don't see any answer. the question is; what to do to have really HUGE yield(gram/cake/flush).

i found that :
-substrate birdseed seem to be a high yelding solution
-dunk can give 10%/15% more shroom on a cake
-a casing can double a cake yield
-perfect humidity ans temperature can change yield
-polyfil lid (grain substrate)
-..thats it...

but what is the strain to use for yield? (ref. link if possible)
anything to know for bigger yield???

another little question: if i want to dunk and i use the peat, vermiculite and limestone casing; i use the same casing for the second flush or do a new mix?

i understand 10/10. i know that i can do this, PW, but the use of polyfill in the lid seem to accelerate the colonisation time.

"wrap tinfoil over the top and begin incubating them"...
isn't  a bad idea? the mush need a bit of light to grow, no?

yes baph, you understand perfectly.but i know that polyfill is used during colonisation.

so, if i'm right with the answer of high4life; i can just drill mini-hole  in the "polyfill cap" ,inject spore and put something on the mini-hole... i think it's right, yea?

PF - Tek / casing and dunk question
« on: September 25, 2008, 12:04:53 AM »
hi. i read this site for 3 week now. it give me some idea , but i had some question.

1-peat,vermiculite and limestone casing do a real difference compared to "no casing" culture?

2-with a peat, vermiculite and limestone casing, is it possible To dunk the cake?

3- when is the good time to put a polyfil lid filter? directly at the beginning, after 3-4 days or what?

thanks for your answer!
