Peralite is useless if your FC isnt designed right, you need 1/4" holes every 2 inches in a grid pattern on all 4 sides +top and bottom with 4-5 inches of perlite for it to function properly.

Cultivation / Re: Inoculating with print?
« on: January 26, 2013, 12:29:28 PM »
you cant inoc PF with a print. you have to make a syringe. just get an empty syringe and needle. Boil water in a pot on the stove for 10 min, while boiling suck 10CC's of water into the syringe, let it sit for 2 min then squirt it in the sink, repeat 3 times on the 4th draw fill the syringe with still boiling water cap it an let it cool, procede to make a spore syringe using whatever tek you choose.

If you cant get ahold of a syringe, you can go to walmart and get a flavor injector and use it. I wouldnt use it as a permanent replacement for standard 1.5" needle 10CC syringes tho. But in a bind go at it.

By the way I have read fizzing my accrue with verticillium and cobweb , I have isolated that cake but with peroxide most no fizzing is to be seen or heard, could this just be a mutation from improper conditions and if this cake does fruit will the fruits be safe to eat?

Yea they will be fine eat em up.
I cant see very well in thoes pics there really small but it looks like 1 of 2 things. Either its nobby aerial mycelium, or its early stage trich (i highly doubt it). Im really thinking knobby mycelium increase your FAE, it wont reverse it but it will stop it from getting worse.

Post back in a couple days let us know if it goes green or stays just like it is now (not any bigger) if its cobweb it will take your whole cake over in 2 - 3 days tops.

Ive cut cakes and they fruit fine no problems its no different than shaking a grain jar, it will recover. If your 100% colonized it wont contam from cutting.

gratz on the pin, wish i could see pic  ! GL and keep us posted.

2 weeks is acceptable, 3 weeks is pushing it, What type of FC are they in? did you let them colonizes for a week after 100%? what fanning/misting shcedule are you runnin on? can you post a few pics of your set up ? would help tons.

On a side note its recomended to skip the roll afterthe first dunk n roll. The verm creates a microclimate for the contam spores that land on it while its fruiting the 1st flush. That being said i have seen great results from cakes that were rolled on the second flush.

Thanks man. Happy someone else is benefiting from the question.

MoGrow, so the oldest jars have still never reached to the bottom all the way. In fact, the Ban and PE are getting a very white layer across the outside at the bottom... I think it looks like that might mean it is too dry. Any suggestions? Are those jars lost causes? The PE that is newest is actually the furthest along, covering 95% of the outside... Give it some more time to get really strong and yippie.

Would need to see a pic of it to determine. but when my jars stall out i flip em upside down, if/when you do this you have to leave em untouched till there ready to birth. When there flipped there at high risk of contams if you move em as youve stirred up the dry top layer.. Its not the best thing to do but it is the only thing you can do with a stalled jar, i have 2 upside down now. they got too compacted i think because i used WBSF I ground at the house, and water retention isnt the same as BRF. If you can when you get a chance post a pic of the one you think is dry, IME if you follow the tek 2:1:1 they come out perfect every time. GL and keep us posted.

No fan with a SGFC there designed to work off natural air currents, a fan will dry you out. dont know how i missed that in the other post.

Nah wasent me. but you never wanna open a PFTEK jar.. no matter what... if you introduce o2 youll induce pinning.. you dont want this.. during myc growth you want GE not FAE. if the PE is still moving, no matter how slow, its not stalled.. have to have patience. your growing from MS im asuming.

If i remember correctly your using a growkit yea?
No way to tell if the moisture content is on par because you didnt make it yourself, one of the points i brought up about isolating a contam source in another post about kits.

Id give it time if its still forming myc.
But whatever happens you dont wanna open that jar, ive heard of injecting water into jars but you would want to do that through one of the initial inoc holes, ive never entertained the idea as that dry verm layer is a filter and IDK but seems kinda iffy shoving a syringe through that into the center of a cake.

PF - Tek / Re: Have you ever had a cake with 50 or more pins ?
« on: December 20, 2012, 02:42:43 PM »
I have 12 cakes only 7 have about 50 or more pins and some are growing back wards here is a pic strain is Panama.

Clone dat der

check out the hawks eye and sporeworks.

Google spore syringes youll get plenty of results. And watch these videos
Im not gonna name suppliers but read there reviews then post back with the ones youve narrowed it down to.

PF - Tek / Re: New at growing using premade jars
« on: December 12, 2012, 02:25:52 PM »
i doubt your contam on the amazonian came from poking the pen through the tape. My PF jars had open injection ports from inoc to birthing. unless you stuck the pen so far in as to penetrate the dry verm layer i dont think this is where it came from..

I do think the growkits are a good all in one choice, i just never thought about going that way seeing as how i could get everything i needed myself in a 5 mile radius from my house.

Deicide, Canibal Corpse, Megadeth, Metallica, Pantera, Lamb of God, Thine eyes bleed, orange goblin, celtic frost, obituary, eyehategod, coc, crowbar, arson anthem, slayer, sepultura... and many more.

PF - Tek / Re: New at growing using premade jars

I didnt even think about using premade kits when i started researching, its just too cheap to do it yourself.. BRF is like 1.25 a LB and vermiculite is like 20$ for 1/2  a lifetime supply, jars are ~9$ a flat, and water is pretty much free so.. i never really saw the point in pre made kits. I have talked to a few people that use them with great success. The problem i see with premades is you can never 100% narrow down your point of contamination if you dont prepare everything yourself, when doing PFtek (which ive done once and am moving away from in favor of bulk grains) all you need is a ok sealing pot to boil. Glad your buddies are growing up big and strong but keep in mind that has absolutely nothing to do with the fact you used premade jars.

PS your Sig rocks... nothing on my music devices but pure metal \m/ to you friend.
as a matter o fact the line in my sig is from a pantera verse

A close up of that back middle cake would be nice... but just looks like bruising to me.
