Do u have to disinfect the perlite before you place it in the FC? If so, whats the best way?

really, so it was ready! danmit!! i have 3 jars and i didnt shake the 3rd so it should be ready.

but after i shook it didnt look nearly done.? is that ok to case?
i would have to shake it anyways so it would look like that (3rd pic), so im going to getting everything ready and start in a day or 2... would that be ok?
How long can u keep a jar colinized? does anything happen to it when u have it for like 3 days done?  thx!

Well here is 1 of my jars. 
It's all white even in the middle when broken but after its shooken up it doesn't look done, what would u say, what % am i at? (bout 16 days btw)

does the size of the shroom affect the potency of it?  ive read (little) somthing that said the smaller shrooms are a little more potent than the big monsters?? So should i be looking for fat asses or r the big 1's just as good? 

Say i have 3.5 grams made of 2 big shrooms and another 3.5 g made up of 10 little 1's... would the affect be the same?

Also how is the potency of aborts compared to a regular mushie?

Also- whats ure opinion on what i read about some mycelium not able to recover after too many shakes and easier to get contams?

I shake my jars... now i've just read that this might introduce contams to ure jars because u disrupt the mycelium development and some dont recover (they said unless u isolate).  It said just shake right when u innuculate and leave it be.  Is this correct... I thought its good to shake at 25% 50% and 75% ( i been doing it a little more often just becuz im excited bout my 1st grow hehe).

So how do u pros do it?  do u guys agree with this non-shaking tek?

Also, they said that cracked corn and popcorn are the fastest colinizers (substrate) what do u guys think?

As i have posted before, I'm doing a hawaiian strain on WBS.  now we all know how slow its been colinizing for me and id like some feedback from ppl either that have done hawaiian or wbs. 

Can WBS slow down colinization?  i dont know y but it seems to me like rye would faster.  Do you all think it can be the strain?? maybr both?

Has any1 ever used cracked corn.-from watching the wbs colinize i noticed that the cracked corn was always the first to turn no matter where it was.  Can this be a good substrate?  i've read very little bout it but heard it can be used.

1 more thing, I know that cube's are all almost the same but some have different effects on a single person (Head, visual, body etc.).  My q is, what if u mix 3 different strains (after their done i mean) together dried.  has any1 done this... did it effect the trip (help or hurt..neaither)?

The foggy jars i think r because of the pc, they were like that after i took em out.  I heard if u put a little bit of viniger in the water (in the pc) the jars wont get that look.

yea, i should save it for the pros to answer but if i remeber right... if stored in a dark cool place, they can last for years.  not sure how many but i think i heard some1 say it was good 3 years later.

srry let me clarify... The trays for the case mix/substrate are - 14" long by 10 or 9" wide.  My fc fits 2 of them with about 2 inches away from each side of the wall and other tray in the fc.  The fc is pretty tall itself, at least prob 2 ft. if i guess almost 3ft long also.

In a fc that packed, the perlite should hold up..?? if i dont cut the holes will venting 4-5 times a day be enough?...Also, do u all suggest the little holes towards the bottom of the fc stufffed with pollyfil (like seen in the pf teK vid if i remember right)

really, just straight verm... but if i do ass peat moss i need the calcium etc.  next time im using coir.

vn im going to start another strain, my hawaiian is waaaay 2 slooooow!!  ill post pics in another day or 2 but nice to hear bout ure myc development.

So you suggest putting the case mix at the bottom also, ok (i read that contams can get to it and u might not notice til too late).

In the case mix, im doing the peat moss + vermiculite mix. do you suggest a 60/40 (60 peat) or a 50/50? also i want to add  Calcium carbonate or hydrated lime (was told ill find it in a garding store but not sure), Which 1 is better in your opinion.  I read that the calcium is safer as the lime burns up the mycelium.  Also, how do the oyster shells affect the case, baph i think u said their not necessary???

When i put my case(s) into the FC...(using the perlite setup in a rubbermaid bin) do i need some kind of air filter or bubler? is venting 2-3 times a day enough?

Also, baph, u said 3-5 inches of perlite, so when the RH is getting 2 high, just remove a inch or so til the desired amount is reached?  If i vent the FC, wouldnt that mess with the RH? 

Just making sure- RH 90-92% is a ok amount

besides the hawaiian i started, my other 3 r Ban Hau Thanon, Thai-Lipa Yai, and Chitwan.  Shouldve started with 1 of those but i really wanted to do those after i get a grow in.  My Hawaiian is almost a test grow but ive studied so much it feels like everything is going good (besides the sloooooow colinization) lol.
