Post by: vonD on December 13, 2006, 05:18:01 PM
Do you have to sterilze everything such as the jars, bowls, spoons and all equipment used for the preparing your substrate??? Do you have to prerssue cooks these things or would simply washing them be good enough?

It really doesn't say anything about the utensils used in the prep of the substrate. How clean do they have to be? Do they need to be boiled or is a simple soap and water cleaning good enough for them?

It doesn't say anything about them having to be boiled or particularly clean...

Soap and water cleaning is fine, just like washing dishes.

The ingredients in your substrate are far more contaminated than your utensils.

Your substrate gets sterilized in the pressure cooker anyway.
