Hi , im new on this board and just started my first growing of the Golden Teacher mushrooms..
Im just curious to know if i have done it right or if this is this contamination that is called Cobweb?
it looks ok to me but im not sure though...
Can it be fatal if it indeed is Cobweb ?
Here is the pics of it

The second and third pics are the base of it , under...
It smells like Mushroom when i picked it up and smelled underneath it..
Thanks.
Look ok to me (but I'm pretty new). I have eaten fruit from a cobwebbed casing and I'm not dead yet...I'm "Grateful" for that!
you have? so then its must not be that dangerous huh? so you think i should keep these and not throw them away?
thanks man
Your cake/s are fine.
Those are metabolites and are quite common.
Cobweb is not harmful and mushies can be ate from trays the have had cobweb.
There is a trick to cobweb if you catch it early enough.
H2O2,aka Hydrogen Peroxide, just buy a bottle like they sell at any drug store and screw a spray nozzle on it and spray.
Cobweb will kinda melt away on contact with H2O2.

cool baph, im going to keep that in mind!! very useful tip!
Thanks Baph and High
They are in 76 F tempeture
About the humidity , i use soaked perlite and i use a water pump in water to keep it moist.. but everyday i have to lift out the cakes and spray the walls of the plastic terrarium.
So my questions is , does it hurt or slow down the process of the mushroom cakes when i take them out for a minute to spray the terrarium?
You have a hydrometer so you know what your RH is?
It won't hurt them to pull them out for that short time.
But if you know what your RH is in you FC you may not have to do what your doing.
Baph
whats a hydrometer? is it expensive?
a hydrometer is like a thermometer but it measures humidity instead of temperture and its a must in this craft. And no they r not 2 expensive, i got mine for a little over 20$ but they have a lot cheaper 1's. mine shows both temp and humidity.
i see.. i must go buy one. Can it be hurtfull if the terrarium is to moist?
Cakes need to be in 95 -100% RH.
So getting it to moist isn't really a issue unless the cakes start looking overly wet.
