Because I was very limited on time I was forced to inoculate my sterilized substrate while the jars were still hot; they weren't too hot to hold in your hand but they were far from room temperature.
I used a spore syringe holding the Alacabenzi strain.
Did the high temperature of my substrate potentially harm the spores preventing growth?
It's only been four days but the lack of mycelium worries me still.
4 days is too soon to tell. if it was over 100 degrees Fahrenheit then yes the spores were probably killed once you innoculated the jars.
You might get lucky. Patience is the key quality necessary for success with this hobby. No way around it. I've made my share of expensive mistakes to prove this true. If you can't wait for the jars to cool, throw them in the freezer or put them in an ice bath. Heat kills, that's why you put them in the PC... :mellow:

Congrats to you! Either the jars weren't too hot, or you got lucky.
In the future try to allocate time enough, that you don't have to sweat so early in the game.
