Hey guys, my first attempt at a grow is showing some growth. I'm not sure what stage I'm at and if these are pins or actaul mushrooms. Not sure at what point the change from pins to mushrooms is. Also, if I had a cake with mushrooms that are mature and ones that are in early growth stage, when should I pick everything and dunk for my second flush?

Woke up this morning and one of my cakes has about 7 pins. Oh YEAH! Thanks moorhs. I think I'm gonna try a small casing in with my cakes and see what happens, just for shits. don't have the room yet for more FCs. How long are you incubating your casing? I've read like 3-4 days before FC. OH YEAH!! I needed at least one mushroom so I could get a print, looks like i'm gonna have one.

Thanks bro!! You thing I will be able to fruit my cakes in the same FC as my casings? I figure they might take longer since the RH will be slighly lower, but what do you think? Looking at your results I'll trust your opinion.

Thanks bro. I've read alot of other posts, but after how many days do you think I should redunk or case or what. I've been waiting 10 days now. Also I have 6 more 1 pint cakes that are at 100% or almost, gonna give them a week to consolodate and then I was gonna fruit or try casing. Whats your caseing tek Moorhs?

I was worried about that thing! I read up on it and I think it was a mutant, but why only mutants growing?? Any ideas? I cut it off to see what it was and so it wouldn't Suck up and more nutrients. It was hollow inside like a big mushroom cap. I'm gonna dry it and eat it as soon as I get some more fruits. Anyone know why this is happening? I'm trying to cut out misting and added yet another cake to see how the results will change without me misting. Thanks guys.

Hey guys, I've had my boys in the FC at 95-99%RH 10-12 hrs of indirect sunlight with two small holes and fanning 4-5 times a day for FAE and some misting to keep RH up. Temp is 65-70F. I'm getting a ball on one of my cakes that looks like it wants to be a mushroom, but it's just a ball and it's growing fast. The cake looks healthy and smells great. The BRF cakes have been in my FC for 8 days now and the growth started on day 6. How can I fix this? What might be the problem? Thanks guys. Also, not fruits on my other two cakes yet.

Thanks guys, I use my girlfriends cheep samsung L100 that I got her for like 110$ She was all excieted to get a new camera when she started taking a photo class, but the one I had gotten her a couple years ago was actuall better than some pricier one today. Go figure. Thanks for the info, I feel better already.

So I've had these guys in my FC for 6 days now. I have 7 more that will be ready to fruit in about 8 days. Just worndering how they are looking. temp is right around 70f and the RH is 95-99% and about 10-11 hours indirect sunlight a day. I have a couple holes in my FC for FAE and I fan and mist about 3 times a day.
The sides of my FC transmit alot of light, but the top is solid. It looks like there is pleanty of light hitting the cakes, not sure if thats enough. Thanks guys. Do they look okay? Also how much longer do you think till I see pins?

Hey dub, whats an airport for liquid culture?

I did it in boiling water for about 20 min, and had no problems. Then I sucked in and pushed out boiling water a couple of times, then filled it with boiling water and let cool to use for a spore syringe.

Hey substrate, how long has that pic been in the FC. I put 3 cakes in the FC 4 days ago and they are starting to fuzz up. They are BRF cakes and hopefully I'll be able to enter my first project in this months contest. Probably not a winner, but I'm stoked anyways. So yeah any average cake pinning times in perfect conditions?

I got my stuff from spores101.com. They have a good selection of prints and syringes. Got my order in a few days and I'm pretty sure they have penis envy. Ha Ha. ( poor joke )

Why wouldn't you do another grow, I just put 3 of my 10 cakes in the FC and can"t wait to keep that shit rolling.

Going to put 3 BRF pint size cakes into my FC tomorrow. The easiest temp for me to have them at is about 65-69F. I should be able to maintain 97-99% humidity and I'll have almost exactly 12 hours of indirect sunlight a day. What are some common fruiting times for BRF cakes? and is my temp going to be alright or should I up it? Thanks guy, I'll be shure to show some pics as soon as I have some action.

Dude, that sucks. I would imagine that the  pasturization should have killed any other spores. I would think you are screwed as far as stopping this. hopefully the mushies you want will not be affected.
