Title: Terrarium Question
Post by: LivingDead1224 on March 22, 2010, 04:51:43 PM
Hi i have a terrarium its a 15 gallon plastic tote..  I have perlite about three inches deep.  and im growing 12 half pint jars of equadoran.   The question i have is..  i was having a hard time keeping my terrarium above 70 degrees, so i purchased a reptile light and have it placed outside of the terrarium ...  so far its been keeping temp between  73 and 78 degrees and i have been maintaining a humidity level of  88 to 93%.  Is it ok to keep the light on at all times? Or is to much light bad for the mushrooms?

70 degrees is fine. . .  I don't think you want to use a light to increase the heat. . .

You can put a aquarium heater in a jar of water and place it inside your FC to increase the temp.

I wouldn't  have the lights on all the time. Go up to walmart and by a timer. They're like $5. I would also try to raise the humidity.
