i was wondering if any body here could help me out with this i would like to know how to make agar i have attempted to and use some all ready but the agar i make is all ways cloudy i have been making it with potato,dextrose,and agar 20 g agar 10 dextrose and i boiled potato's for an hour and use the liquid left over i only start with one liter of liquid when boiling potato's then bring the liquid up to one liter after boiling and straining the potato's i only use 350 g patoats i was also wondering if just agar and dextrose would be a good host for my-cilium (would myclium grow on just agar and dextrose compound much easer less time) how would i also get the agar clear is it the potato's
Potato dex and malt dex with agar are fine.
yes` that might be good but i cant seem to get the agar to be clear and i was wondering if i could use just agar and dextros and what is malt
How are you preparing your agar? just agar and dextrose are fine, malt extract is another usable nutrient source for agars. works well with potato dex.
