Alright I've not clue what FEA means, I've got my lights on for a while and they should be getting light from outside when its there. I'm not sure about the humidy though cause my humididy meter died. I see some pins now on the good cake But I've got a strong feeling there's not enough humidity so I was wondering how to raise it, the lid has some weight on it but I see no sweat now on the walls. As for cobweb mushrooms, if its a contaminate why would it be safe to eat it?

My cat decided to be frisky and rub its head against the tupperware the bad cake was in just a few minutes ago and knocked it over where I had rested it for a moment... When it fell I checked on it and some mushrooms had been damaged so I took them out and noticed at the bass it was dark green(their bad I know), I then continued with it set it on a plate and cut it in half to examine the inside. inside it had some tones of the mold. I also came home today to a funny smell(not sure if its the garbage from last night or not haha) but I haven't smelt the bad cake yet, so I'm wondering if it is safe to me smelling it cause of the mold spores. How should I smell it to be safe?

If it costs more than 25$ to send a money order/money then I will stick with my local store that sells spore syringes

I've never done a money order before. Might as well check it out tomorrow while I'm out and about.

Most places say to go with alcohol, I'd suggest it because it will evaporate fairly fast after you wipe the shot glass with it, where as bleach will stay in there until air dried or you dry it yourself

I spray lysol after words... I'm only using it so I can actually take a chance with the mushrooms and handle them in mid grow and look closely to see what isn't going right or ask the right questions since I will be handling the cake. I open my bad cake in another room though.

Goodness me, the bad cake is almost to the top of the tupperware container haha. This really seems like a humidity issue, would it do any damage if I added CO2?
Also I tried taking a picture of the bad cake but my camera is too crappy to show something I'm not sure about. On some areas of the mushrooms this white fuzz(not grey mind your) feels like cobweb. After school when I got time I might try to remove a portion of this and take a picture again in hopes to illustrate what it looks like.

I'm not very comfortable with sending money through the mail. This is mainly because I'm paranoid and it could get 'lost' or damaged. At some point it could be one persons word against another and in the end the sender usually loses.

Birthed my cakes yesterday, and my 'good' cake seems to not have any pins. My bad cake how ever has a muchroom a few inches long already from one day.
I'm using the bad cake just for my own analytical purpose(touching the premature mushrooms, feeling the cake etc.) Besides the obvious part that's bad both cakes bare similar characteristics. The mycellium seems to have another layer or same white stuff(mycellium, fuzz not sure) growing on top of it. On the bad cake the mushroom caps were slimy.
Just wondering about all these things since its my first grow. I know of the cobweb mold but not sure how to be 100% sure this is a mold and just not the mycellium doing its thing. Are the mushrooms normally supposed to be slimy(keep in mind this is from my bad cake as well)

That large book(a programming book) was just put on there. It's a fair size(and fairly shitty to read) so I figured I'd make good use of it for once and put it on there to maybe keep in to RH(this is humidity right?)

Forgot to add, the containers are significantly different in terms of size. Will try to take and send a picture of the two. I am pointing to the good cake.
From what I've read this is either a humidy issue since it is much larger than the smaller container, CO2 issue because it isn't making enough, or a mix of both. I know how to make CO2 gas myself from science class so I could solve that with ease myself, the humidity how ever is something I'm unsure about how to solve. Any insight guys?

I tried emailing ralphsters some months ago and never recieved an answer... I wanted to know if they'd accept western union since it is faster and more secure than sending your money through the mail. Anyone know wether I can or can't?

What space heater is that? I am thinking of buying myself one

Well if you guys can link me up to any heaters you've used successfully or give me the name/model that'd be very helpful. I will buy a space heater if it is cheaper(I need one anyway)

I flamed, and alchohal sterilized my needle after every injection when I did this(and yes I made the needle red hot).  But I'll check out some aquarium heaters tomorrow.

Thing is I've called a few pet stores about fish tank heater but they all have said they don't know what temperature the heater keeps the tanks at. I see several kinds of heaters as well so which kind should i aim for?

I had checked on them so thats when light might've gotten in, other than that I don't believe light could have even shone on them cause they were on a shelf in a closet.

Well one looks fine. I got bout 40$ I could put towards trying again. Though I shall wait until I can buy a variable space heater for when I incubate them. I will definently try to do a large grow next time.
Once I birth them are the chances of contaminates still just as high? I used a lysol disinfecting whipe on the entire container, though I used normal tap water

Well I assumed I had inadequet temperatures. It was just in a closet that seemed to have a temperature of 20-27 celcious so I just left them in there. I am sure the temperature kept fluctuating through out the time, would that be the bad conditions to colonize?
If I had let a bad cake grow in a seperate container and sprout shrooms not for eating, and the shrooms looks mold free could I use those to make some spore sryinges?

For the black specs those seemed to be mushroom heads. I never removed them though.

Holy crap the second cake had a bunch of mushrooms but was BLACK in some areas and it looked bruised. I got a mushroom that I pulled off of the other cake that looks healthy. I got the second cake fruiting in another container thats quit small. Will post some pics when I sober up heh

How can I tell after words if the mushrooms are unsafe to eat? The bad cake is the one you see black. Part of the cake was actually black as well
