Cultivation / Problem with mold on casings??
February 25, 2010, 09:48:37 PM
OK i had one casing get some trich when i was incubating them after topping them with sphagnum peat/verm. Is it because of the sphagnum peat cause it had alot of moisture on the sides and the foil i covered it with. But the when i pressure cooked my peat/verm it had the right amount of water, only a couple drops of water came out when i squeezed it. Plus i am very clean. i think i should try coco coir/verm or maybe even top soil?

Hell yeah grain rocks it's the fastest subtrate i have seen. Its so vigarous and i have a jar that has a slight bit of yellow tent, it could be from the grains when they bust open but i hope it's not anything harmful.

Yeah i learned bigger the substrate bigger the fruits. Yes be clean all around, bleach has become my best friend and lysol lol lots and lots of lysol. And if you want to put it in a bag you can but i just crumbled them and put them in my trays. I am pretty sure i crumbled four cakes per casing tray, and topped it with 50/50 peat and verm. I came out with a little under four oz's.

Thats fucking hilarious cause i have them same draft problem i am putting king size flat sheets up and hanging them from the ceiling and it keeps the warmth in just fine. And you should get the ones that have a temp you can set. because the ones i have turn off once they reach the temp i set it at. To answer your last question your going to have to ask the more experienced friends, trust me i am i still new at this too haha..... but i am learning fast

Yes i would crumble them i crumbled my first cakes and they turned out really well, and yes they will be fine in the same FC if there is room for them. I like to have alot of surface area. And No they shouldnt need more FAE. Just make sure you are clean clean clean, you dont want the green meanie coming along with your friends.

Space heaters my friend they never let me down, and i live in the midwest so the temp is about the same for us. Outside it's thirty and my basement is in the low 50's. But walmart has cheap ones, and doubt you will need a aquarium heater i have never used one. As for the RH perlite will give off enough RH just may have to plug some holes in your FC, too many holes and you will not have a high enough RH to fruit your cakes....

Had a really quick and easy question when my bulk sub is fully colonized, and its time to top it with my casing materail. Should i let let my casing 50/50 peat and verm colonise to or should i just put it straight in the fc as soon as i put the casing materail and introduce it to my light cycle?
