Title: drying my shrooooms

besides leaving them out, what is the best method for drying? i need them dry enough to store.

I use a dehydrator.  This was just discussed in a topic recently here.  If you can afford it IMO it works great.  Less than 24 hours to dry.  Get one with adjustable temp.   I use mine at 95 degrees.  Then they are cracker dry and can be stored.

I fan dry on a screen for 12 hours then use a dehydrator.

why not use a dehydrator for the whole process?

So I can crumble the casing mixes off the stipe before I put them in my dehydrator, plus I think it removes the initial moisture faster.

i do the same thing as PW.. so that the casing will dry. it comes off easier before i put in dehydrator. i just put under a fan for 2 maybe 3 hours. also they don't bruise as bad that way.
