wipe it down with bleach water, then wash with soap and rinse.

I wash with soap and water and then give it a good alcohol rub down.  I use the 99% alcohol so its nice and clean!

Go with the Max. strength alcohol as shroomzer has suggested. It is cheap, works very well and won't ruin anything if you spill it.

The fruiting chamber I chose has 4 clear sides but an opaque lid.  Will this work? If not, is there any household items I can use as a replacement lid?

I am new here, but I plan on becoming a regular (especially if my cultivation goes according to plan!).

Thanks all!

That's the same thing I use and I have had no problems, just be patient because it may take a month or more to fruit.(or less if you're lucky)
