The cause is that green mold spores somehow managed to come in contact with the substrate.
Mold spores are easily killed when sterilized, thus they usualy come  from outside after sterilization , either by air, dirty tools or dirty syringes(both needle and/or the spore suspension).

Thanks for reply  It seems that I get to much comdensation all the time would that also cause it ? I try to be clean, it is usualy hot here in thailand.

what can a microwave oven ,besides boiling water, be used for in mushroom cultivation?

will using a burning mosquito coil help fight contaminatio ?

will mycelium grow if put in a liquid grwth medium like malt or dextrose like spores will ?

I guess that a person can use same tek for "normal" mushrooms ! also for non
grain type mushrooms ( wood type mushrooms ) do You change the brown rice to a differant type of food?
